Food & Agriculture

The Dutch Food & Agricultural sector is world leading. The growing and evolving global demand for food is the catalyst for constant developments in this sector. The sector faces major challenges regarding the implementation of new technology, sustainable (circular) agricultural processes, meeting the strict requirements of food safety, reducing nitrogen and resolving location issues around nature conservation. Many of these issues are also subject to complex legal frameworks.

Experience in Food & Agriculture

Since Haarlem (where our office is located) is an important centre of the Dutch flower industry, we provide frequent advice to companies in that industry. We also work on behalf of other companies in the food and agriculture sector, from fruit and vegetable growers to supermarket chains and retailers.

Expertise

We advise companies in the Food & Agriculture sector regarding competition law, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and other forms of cooperation, labour law, privacy and IT. In addition, we regularly draw up commercial contracts for stakeholders in the supply chain, ranging from distribution and franchise contracts to general terms and conditions and service agreements. Our specialists also advise on real estate matters and ensure that agricultural and food production processes meet spatial planning regulations.
