Merel Hazes has been a lawyer at Pot Jonker Advocaten since June 2026. Before moving to Pot Jonker, she worked for six years as an IT lawyer at a large Dutch law firm (Van Doorne). There, she gained broad experience advising clients on technology, outsourcing, franchising, and commercial contracts.

At Pot Jonker, Merel is part of the IT, IP, and Privacy team, where she focuses primarily on drafting and litigating IT agreements. In doing so, she typically represents the customer side. In addition to her legal expertise in technology, she also enjoys delving into AI and all the legal and non-legal questions that come with it.

Merel likes to provide practical advice while always keeping the bigger picture of the business in mind. This allows her to translate legal advice into solutions that work in practice.
