Jørgen den Houting
Advocaat, Lawyer, PartnerJørgen specialises in civil construction and public procurement law and has extensive experience in both areas of law. Jørgen studied Dutch law at Leiden University and was admitted to the bar in July 2001.
His clients are primarily active in civil engineering (GWW) and in residential and non-residential construction (B&U). Jørgen assists construction companies, architectural and engineering firms, private clients (developers and investors) and public clients (such as water boards and local authorities). He is well acquainted with the diverse interests of the various players in the construction sector.
Jørgen is happy to contribute his expertise when submitting a bid for a (national or European) tender or when organising the tender process. He also regularly advises clients during the execution of a project (if desired, as a sparring partner or as the lead negotiator). In addition, he regularly conducts proceedings before various arbitration bodies, including the Arbitration Board for Construction Disputes, and before the civil courts, concerning construction disputes. Clients describe him as committed, critical and solution-oriented, with a wealth of professional expertise.

- Lecturer (one half-day session twice a year) on the Public Procurement Law course for lawyers at the VU Law Academy.
- Courses: Jørgen delivers courses at the Institute for Construction Law (including, from 2015, the course ‘Back-to-back contracts’, from 2023 the topical lecture ‘Case law on the UAV-GC 2005/2025’ and from 2025 the study afternoon ‘Everything about the UAV 2012’. He also regularly and enthusiastically delivers ‘in-house’ courses for clients and trade associations.
